Home Sky
An interactive outdoor installation
This contribution to Warwickshire Arts Week is a view seen through an aperture, focusing on a small part of the sky surrounding our blue planet, described from space as incredibly beautiful and immensely fragile. The space inside provides a place for reflection, meditation, rest and enjoyment.
The materials used are mainly natural fibres and plants, and the tying, layering, wrapping, threading used in the construction emphasise the care we should take, and the respect we owe to the Earth, and the protection it needs.
Crawl inside, lie on your back and look through the opening. You should see some sky, perhaps some clouds or maybe birds flying. Enjoy the view!
This is a collaborative work by Margarita Rubra and Paul Carter.
